Mayer defeats Joseph in Las Vegas

NABF super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer remained undefeated by defeating tough Nigerian Helen Joseph in a the main bout of a Top Rank-featured card in “The Bubble” at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, broadcast by ESPN.

From the outset, Joseph exerted pressure and launched into attack mode, but Mayer was able to effectively and concisely counter all her attacks showing a clear dominance in the fight.

The judges’ cards favored Meyer with scores of 99-91, 100-90, and 100-90.

With this victory, Mayer improved her record to 13-0, with 5 knockouts, while Joseph is 17-5-2, 10 knockouts.
